Spirituality is in our innate nature. The world we live in today has become a global village, we are all connected through social media and our gadgets. Nothing goes un-noticed in today’s world. We as humans evolve and adapt to the environment that we live in.
However, with the globalization we did not evolve like we were supposed to. The nature of humans to control and rule other through deception and fear has gone beyond the realms of imagination. We are constantly living this life of fear, where we feel that everyone is out to get us. When did we become so not human. We have compassion for a sick animal while a child goes hungry and we are so oblivious to this fact and blinded in our own self.
A while ago I met this homeless person. He was completely hopeless of life. He was holding a sign which read
I wish I was a dog.
Tears started to roll down my eyes. To this day I cannot get rid of the picture out of my head.
Where is love and compassion?
Rumi– a sufi poet expresses it beautifully in one of his poems.
Look inside and find where a person loves from. That’s the reality,
not what they say. Hypocrites give attention to form, the right
and wrong ways of professing belief. Grow instead in universal light. ~Rumi - The Book of Love
The moment we stop loving others and start judging the darkness in our heart grows. And even worse, if we stop loving ourselves then who knows where we will end. Take a step today, make love part of your life, precaution is good in limits but not when life is lived in fear.
Robin Sharma, in his book The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari, quotes
Do the things you fear
Life is short,
STOP
PAUSE &
LOVE….
